COAST Trust
COAST organizes strategically important activities related to development, which in turn, will facilitate the sustainable and equitable improvement of life, especially of women, children and disadvantaged population of coastal areas in Bangladesh through their increased participation in the socio-economic, cultural and civic life.
COAST organizes campaign and advocacy for ensuring the right of people who are at risk of disaster displacement. It also advocates at national level for formulating policies so that the country can prevent and prepare for displacement before and after a disaster strikes. Those who are displaced in the coastal area, COAST ensures capital support, health, education and transfer technologies for ensuring their livelihoods.
Since 2007, COAST, along with other organizations, has been raising the International Protocol, Global Compact on Migration and Disaster Displacement issue in the CoP, so that countries recognize and formulate policies to address displacement problems.
