Nicodemus Nyandiko
Dr. Nicodemus Nyandiko is a Senior Lecturer at Masinde Muliro University where he teaches disaster risk reduction and climate change related courses. Dr. Nyandiko’s objective is to build and share cutting-edge knowledge and skills related to disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation for resilience and sustainable development locally, nationally and globally.
Currently a Senior Lecturer and Researcher at Masinde Muliro University where Dr. Nyandiko teaches undergraduate and post graduate students on disaster risk reduction and climate change related courses. In addition, he is a member of the Africa Science and Advisory Group on DRR of the Africa Union Commission (AUC), a Member and Co-Chair of the Climate Mobility Africa Research Network (CMARN) that was launched in November 2021. Through CMARN, Dr. Nyandiko has worked closely with the PDD and has similar objectives to the PDD that include:
- Promoting and facilitating critical and independent research on law and policy responses to disaster and climate change-related human mobility in Africa;
- Fostering collaboration between researchers and policy experts with the goal of supporting evidence-based law and policy development on displacement and migration in the context of disasters and climate change and their implementation; and,
- To develop the knowledge and capacity of researchers in and from Africa on these issues, including early career researchers.
