Florence has experience in areas covering humanitarian Assistance, Refugee Protection, Climate Change Action, Human Rights, Humanitarian Protection and Development. She is keen to support the objectives of the Nansen Initiative Protection Agenda through the Platform on Disaster Displacement as an Independent Expert.
Florence Geoffroy worked for more than three years at the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) at Headquarters in Geneva and at the Regional Office in Dakar as Associate Expert on Humanitarian and Climate issues (2019-2022). She also worked for two years at the Permanent Mission of France to the United Nations in Geneva as Humanitarian Advisor (2017-2019). She took part in important international political processes, such as the follow-up of the World Humanitarian Summit, through the negotiation of the two Global Compacts on Refugees and on Migration and international climate conferences (COP25, COP26, COP15). She contributed to strengthening links with the UN (UNHCR, IOM, OCHA) and NGOs, and assisted in developing several sustainable projects, notably in the Sahel, one of which was selected by the UNHCR Innovation Fund in 2022.
