Objective / Mission Statement:
The MMC’s mission is to empower and enable cities with access, capacity, knowledge, and connections to engage in migration diplomacy and policymaking at the international, regional, and national level. We ensure that governments’ responses address realities on the ground for the benefit of newcomers and the communities that receive them.

Key activities relevant to PDD:
The MMC has a founding partnership with C40 Cities that works towards building momentum around actions that cities are taking to address climate-induced migration and promote inclusive climate action. In the context of this initiative, the MMC:
- Coordinates and streamlines cities’ diplomatic activities to promote conducive national and international policy frameworks that are proactive in facilitating ‘safe, regular and orderly’ movements of people in the face of climate change impacts.
- Highlights concrete recommendations and best practices on integrating inclusive climate action with integration/inclusion policies in cities.
- Promotes joint and targeted approaches towards climate and migration related funding instruments and streams.
