Refugees International (RI)
Refugees International advocates for lifesaving assistance and protection for displaced people and promotes solutions to displacement crises. We are an independent organization, and do not accept any government or UN funding.
RI’s Climate Displacement Program conducts research and advocacy to enhance protection and assistance for vulnerable populations uprooted or affected by severe weather and other climate change effects. Informed by fact-finding missions to countries experiencing climate-related disasters, RI publishes reports that include recommendations to governments, donors, UN agencies and others for improving the response. RI also advocates for investments in DRR and building the resilience of communities to climate change. RI is also actively engaged in international efforts to fill gaps in the institutional and legal frameworks to protect those uprooted by climate change that lack protection under the Refugee Convention.
