The Anglican Communion Office supports the institutional life of the Communion and serves it 40 provinces in 165 countries, including through dialogues with other Christian traditions, discussions with other faiths and engagement with United Nations bodies; and building partnerships internationally to work for justice, peace and sustainable development.

Key activities relevant to PDD:

Through its long-established presence at the United Nations and in close partnership with the Anglican Alliance, the Anglican Communion Office represents and raises up Anglican voices from around the world on a variety of issues related to disaster displacement including:

  • informing key stakeholders how local churches are responding to the changing climate and issues related to displacement and sharing opportunities for partnership;
  • advising local churches on incorporating their activity into wider national, regional and global efforts;
  • supporting local communities to be better prepared to respond to disasters through training and workshops and facilitate; and
  • supporting community-led responses to climate change and related issues.
