Food for the Hungry
Food for the Hungry, for over 40 years, serves through multi-sectoral relief and development in 20 countries globally. Inspired by our Christian belief that everyone has intrinsic value, we serve based on need alone. We strive to respect the culture of those we serve, preserving their humanity and dignity.
Food for the Hungry’s goal is to see children thrive in key relationships within healthy families and communities; a goal undermined by disasters, shocks and stresses. These impacts are influenced by complex dynamics between hazards, the vulnerabilities of people, and the social, political, natural, physical, economic and human factors of their context. These facets are ever changing. Thus, when shocks hit a system, they do not occur in isolation; rather they interact with multiple factors to compound or relieve their impact.
Food for the Hungry works to develop integrated strategies to reduce risk and increase resilience so that communities and households can recover for continued transformation.
