Human mobility is among the most significant consequence of hazards and disasters related to climate change. In 2023, disaster displacement reached unprecedented levels, with 32.6 million internal displacements recorded worldwide, according to the Internal Displacement Monitoring Centre (IDMC).

Join the conversation in person or online to learn more about lessons learned from strategic partnerships between the European Union, the Platform on Disaster Displacement (PDD), IDMC and local governments to address disaster displacement. The event will focus on concrete actions implemented as part of the European Commission’s humanitarian and development initiatives, as well as integrated approaches by key partners.

Speakers will include representatives of the European Union, Fiji and Kenya, the International Centre for Climate Change and Development (ICCCAD), IDMC, PDD, the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), and the International Organization for Migration (IOM).

This event is co-organized by the European Union, current Chair of the PDD, IDMC and the PDD.
