CLIMB Database
14th GFMD Summit Marketplace
23-25 January 2024
International Conference Centre Geneva (CICG)
1st Floor, Booth 12
For the 14th Summit of the Global Forum on Migration and Development (GFMD), a Marketplace booth will offer attendees the opportunity to have an interactive introduction to the CLIMB Database. This first-of-its-kind consolidation of over 1,500 policy and legal instruments addressing human mobility in the context of disasters, climate change, and environmental degradation. Visitors will gain insights into how the database aligns with major policy frameworks, such as the Global Compact for Migration, the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, and the Sendai Framework.
The CLIMB booth encourages delegates to consider the potential of the database and its related products to stimulate global discussions, foster collaboration, and catalyze innovative approaches to understanding the dynamics of climate change, migration, and development in the context of our changing planet. Finally, through live demonstrations the ability of the database to foster policy coherence, enhance evidence-based decision-making, enable best practice sharing across nations, and promote a collaborative approach to addressing climate change impacts on human mobility will be highlighted.
Hosted on the UN Network on Migration Hub, the CLIMB Database is born from a collaborative effort between the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the United Nations Network on Migration, the Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and the Platform on Disaster Displacement (PDD) under the UN Network on Migration’s workstream on climate change, the GCM and the Paris Agreement.
